Beatrice Brown-Mulry

Data scientist and software engineer in the HITI Lab @ Emory University.

My day-to-day work focuses on developing and evaluating AI/ML applications in healthcare, primarily vision models for breast cancer diagnosis in medical imaging. I believe explainability is vital for AI/ML applications in medicine, so I'm particularly interested in designing workflows to understand hidden performance disparities and model failure modes.

Outside data science, I'm a software engineer with fullstack development experience in academic and personal projects. This (WIP!) website is built with Astro, but I regularly work with routing frameworks like NextJS and Express, or frontend frameworks like React. I also dabble in embedded programming with C and Rust on RP2040 and Arduino boards. In everything I do, I'm passionate about clean code and efficient system design.
